The Redesign of AHNDA's Logo: Visual and Emotional Evolution

 

The AHNDA Association, dedicated to providing support and resources for individuals with ADHD, needed a logo redesign to better reflect its mission and values. While the original logo was functional, its outdated style failed to convey the impact and professionalism needed to connect with its audience. The redesign aimed to update its visual identity, projecting modernity, approachability, and a focus on neurodiversity.

 

Issues Identified in the Original Design

 

The original design featured a cartoonish figure that, although eye-catching, lacked the professionalism and depth necessary to represent the association’s work. The typography lacked visual strength and did not effectively highlight the association's name, while the color palette of greens and grays failed to create an emotional impact or align with a modern image. Overall, the logo did not clearly or professionally communicate AHNDA’s purpose.

 

Redesign Approach

 

The redesign focused on creating a logo that represented both the scientific focus and the empathy of the association, emphasizing the mind and creativity as key pillars of neurodiversity.

The cartoon figure was replaced with a conceptual icon of a stylized head featuring abstract elements symbolizing ideas, thoughts, and creativity in constant motion. This visual element conveys a positive perspective on the abilities of individuals with ADHD.

 

The typography was updated to a modern, robust sans-serif style, with "AHNDA" in uppercase to provide greater visual presence and strength. A gradient in warm tones, ranging from yellow to orange, was introduced to symbolize energy, vitality, and hope. This shift not only modernizes the association’s image but also fosters a stronger emotional connection with its audience.

 

Impact of the New Logo

 

The new logo projects a professional, modern, and empathetic image. Its versatile design ensures it works seamlessly across digital and print formats, from web applications to promotional materials. This redesign not only updates AHNDA’s visual identity but also reinforces its message as an association committed to inclusion, support, and the development of individuals with ADHD.
