Dispares is a company dedicated to connecting its brand with barefoot shoe consumers. In this context, my goal was to identify existing usability issues and propose functional solutions to enhance the user experience on their platform.

During the initial audit and research process, several user experience friction points were identified, including:

  • Unintuitive navigation
  • Poorly organized hierarchical information
  • Lack of visual consistency in key interface elements
  • Issues in the conversion process (e.g., purchasing or contacting)

This diagnosis allowed for the definition of a user-centered approach and the prioritization of key areas for improvement.

To better understand user needs and validate the identified issues, various research methodologies were implemented.

Surveys with both closed and open-ended questions were distributed to a representative sample of users.

These surveys provided valuable insights into user expectations, frustrations, and general perceptions of the platform.

Key Sample Questions:

  • Do you use barefoot shoes in your daily life?
  • What is your opinion on the price range of barefoot footwear?
  • Do you think a brand offering transitional footwear is necessary?
  • Do you prefer pre-orders or in-stock availability?
  • What sole thickness do you prefer?

Insights Gained from the Surveys and Other Research:

  • Users highly value affordable options within the barefoot footwear market.
  • There is a growing demand for transitional footwear, especially among those new to barefoot shoes.
  • A preference for in-stock availability was evident, with many users finding pre-orders inconvenient.
  • Sole thickness preferences vary, highlighting the need for customizable or well-defined product options.
  • Emotional aspects, such as trust in materials and brand transparency, play a crucial role in purchase decisions.

These insights served as the foundation for actionable solutions to address user pain points and enhance the overall experience.

The strategy I proposed for Dispares focuses on positioning its products as innovative and distinctive solutions within the market, aligning its value proposition with the real needs of its customers. This is achieved through a customer experience (CX)-driven approach and a deep understanding of the market.

This strategy aims not only to increase visibility and conversion rates but also to create a memorable experience that turns users into brand ambassadors.
